L 1-2 AWAY Fri, Sep 6, 7:15pm @ QO
Fun Fact #1: There have been 25 girls 4A State Champions Since MCPS moved girls soccer to play in the fall (yes, we played in the Spring).
Fun Fact #2: 13 of those champions have come from MCPS.
Fun Fact #3: All of those state champions play in the same region- 4A West- where there are no easy games.
That proved to be true once again in the season opening match between the Churchill Bulldogs and Quince Orchard Cougars. Quince Orchard controlled much of the play in the 1st half and led 2-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs played much better in the 2nd half and made the game interesting with 4 minutes remaining on a goal by Ruby Siegal assisted by Dani Huang. Quince Orchard held on for a hard fought 2-1 victory.
